Latitude & Longitude
The first thing you have to do, is find the latitude and longitude of the place where you want to put your dial. The easiest way to do this is to look in a good atlas like the Reader's Digest Atlas of Southern Africa or in a recently published road map of South Africa.
The latitude and longitude of some cities and towns in South Africa are listed in the table below. If you do not have a map and your town is not listed, find the latitude of a place either east or west of your own. This value for the latitude should be good enough for a start. Or ...
