16 February 2002 05:00 - 08:30	Bird Ringing day The Pretoria Bird Ringing Club will set up nets before sunrise and ring birds from about 06:00.It should be an interesting event. Dress warmly, bring your flasks of coffee and join us!
2 March 2002 08:30 12:30	Membership Drive at Glenfair shopping centre Bring your friends and let them sign up! Only R20.00 per person. Committee members will be present to assist you with information.
23 March 2002 06:00-11:00	Tree planting and staking day Regular mowing of the spruit area stunts the growth of new indigenous trees and shrubs. This inhibits bird and animal life. The mowing, including fire control, is the subject of debate. It will be addressed with in the ecology plan under preparation. Last year we placed markers at young plants that should be avoided by the mowing contractor. This year we are doing the same and combining it with a tree planting exercise. Members are invited to join us - with your hammer, spade and refreshments! We will provide stakes and some trees and need your muscle! Come and make your valuable contribution to the future of the area. Assisted by Adelene Loock and her team, we will place indigenous trees and plants in pre-dug holes. This will be the start of a process to redress the degradation of the area. Donations of indigenous plants and/or trees are welcomed. A list of desired flora will be circulated in due course.

20 April 2002 08:00 - 12:00	Fun Run and Clean up Day A fun run with a difference! Children under the age of 16 are invited to join us to clean the area of plastic and other light rubbish. A prize of R200-00 to be given to the team that collects the most litter. Refuse bags will be provided. Parents are most welcome to join in the fun.
25 May 2002 08:00-13:00	Reconnoitre Day Youth Clubs are invited to walk and reconnoitre our spruit area under supervision.
22 June 2002 09:30-12:30	Other Friends Groups' open day All Friends Groups are invited to explore our area with our Group committee members and members to see what we are doing to preserve our fauna and flora.
27 July 2002 09:00-13:00	Implement recommendations of Eco Survey in our Spruit area. Details will be made available closer to the date of the event.
24 August 2002 08:30-12:30	Membership Drive at Watermeyer Park Bring your friends and let them sign up! Only R20.00 per person. Committee members will be present to assist you with information.
28 September 2002 07:30-12:00	Committee members and friends and to hike the trail and to inspect what has been achieved this year!
26 October 2002 06:00 11:00	Tree planting and staking day
Wednesday 20 November 2002 18:00	The Second Annual General Meeting of the Friends!
Meeting place	Unless advised otherwise, all walks and events start at the spruit gate, Priory Road, Lynnwood Ridge. Secure parking for Saturday events is usually available in the Lower parking area, PERSEUS building, Priory Road, courtesy of Saambou Bank.
